SUMMER Clay Camp

Join us for our fourth annual Summer Clay Camp where we learn to be real artists and make ceramic art works to sell at the Mount Gretna Children's Art Show, August 17 & 18, 2019. (http://www.mtgretnaarts.com/activities.php#KidsArtShow)

During camp we talk about making, marketing, pricing, displaying and selling art and we have fun too! Campers take part in staffing the exhibition tent at the art show (along with some parent volunteers) and selling their work to the public.

No experience necessary, beginners welcome. All materials and firings included.

*Art show participation is voluntary. Campers choose whether to participate or not.

This is a two-part camp. Please register for Part 1 and Part 2.

Part 1: CLAY BUILDING

Campers make a variety of projects that are centered around learning basic hand-building techniques with educational themes in areas of science, math and history as well as nature themes. We also set aside a little time in each class for the children to experiment and make their own creations. Campers are encouraged to express themselves!

About the Mount Gretna Children’s Art Show

Campers determine which of their art works they wish to sell at the art show. We will meet at a coordinated time during the week before the art show to price and pack the work. Adult volunteers and their campers will take part in setting up and staffing the exhibition tent for a minimum of 2 hours either August 17 or 18. This is a group effort involving all campers and volunteers. Anyone willing to do more is encouraged and appreciated!

*If Camper chooses to not participate in the art show, their clay art works will be available a few days after Part 2: Glazing camp.

Working with our hands makes us happy!
